Child struck by gunfire in Lakewood

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that happened in the 5600 block of Bishop Lane Friday evening.

Jacksonville Fire-Rescue Department confirms that a child suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital. JSO has not released information on any possible suspects.

Neighbors tell Action News that a 3-year-old child was inside the house when she was hit in the foot by a bullet. Bullet holes can be seen on the outside of the Lakewood house.
