Clay County couple saved from sinking boat
NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. -- A Clay County couple and their dog are safe tonight after their sailboat sank in New Smyrna Beach.
The 42-foot sailboat, Primrose, ran aground this morning in Ponce Inlet and slowly sank in the ocean.
Fish and wildlife officers rescued Diane and Michael Robinson of Green Cove Springs and their cocker spaniel Annie. No one was injured.
The FWC is investigating. Officials believe the boat struck the river floor and slowly began to sink.
