JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- 18 volunteer auxiliary parking enforcement officers are graduating from the city's Military Affairs, Veterans and Disabled Services Department's Disabled Parking Enforcement Program.

The program educates the public about parking laws related to handicap parking spaces and enforces those laws through parking citations.

The officers must attend 16 initial hours of education with an FDLE instructor, pass an FDLE state exam to be certified, and participate in quarterly trainings with the program coordinator to maintain certification.

For more information, contact the program's manager, Beth Meyer at (904) 630-4940 or by email at bmeyer@coj.net.
