WASHINGTON, D.C. -- It took only a matter hours before former 6th District of Florida congressman Cliff Stearns found employment.

According to a company press release, Stearns joined lobbying firm APCO Worldwide as a senior adviser and member of the company's International Advisory Council

"Cliff adds extensive expertise in telecommunications and international trade to APCO and I am delighted to welcome him to our dynamic team, where I know he will be a great resource for our clients," said founder and CEO Margery Kraus.

Stearns spent the past 24 years in congress representing parts of northern and central Florida.

“I look forward to contributing my breadth of experience in telecommunications and technology, as well as international trade, to such a strong team of former government officials, corporate communicators, business leaders and media experts,” Stearns said in a statement.

Stearns was narrowly defeated in the 2012 Republican primary by political new comer and Tea Party favorite Ted Yoho.
