Fort White man injured in hunting accident

FORT WHITE, Fla. -- A Fort White man was injured in a hunting accident Tuesday.

Norberto Mondilio Quinones-Caseres, 61, was climbing over a fence Tuesday evening at Bethany Farms on State Road 47 when his gun misfired and a bullet hit him in the abdomen, according to a release from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission.  He was conscious when he was taken to Shands Hospital in Gainesville.

Quinones-Caseres told officials he had been hunting coyotes.
 
The accident is still under investigation.
