JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville man was convicted of shooting at his girlfriend during an argument in front of their children.
Lewis Carroll Studemire, III, 25, was charged with shooting or throwing deadly missiles.
In March 2011, Studemire got into an argument with his girlfriend, Zandra Fluitt. The argument, which was about Fluitt's ex-boyfriend, took place near Fluitt's two children and Studemire's four children.
During the argument, Studemire and Fluitt went into the bedroom where Studemire pulled out a handgun and shot at Fluitt. The bullet hit the wall behind her. Fluitt was able to get away from Studemire.
Studemire faces 15 years in prison. He will be sentenced the week of January 7, 2013.
