JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- Listed below are updates on the flooding situation from areas affected by Tropical Storm Debby.
Columbia County, Fla. -- Federal Emergency Management Officials arrived Saturday evening to begin assessing the damage to homes and bridges. At least four crossways have been washed out. EOC scheduled to meet Monday to discuss extending the state of emergency order. The Santa Fe River is expected to crest Sunday. It is currently at 32.2 ft, about eight feet above flood stage.
Nassau County, Fla. -- More than 50 homes have at least six inches of water inside. All boat ramps are closed. Trees that were knocked down during Tropical Storm Beryl are making conditions on the water hazardous. No shelters are open.
Baker County, Fla. -- St. Marys River has gone down about two feet. Officials may reopen a shelter for about 15-20 people.
Clay County, Fla. -- Black Creek has reopened to boaters. Old Ferry Road boat ramp is accessible, but the Main Street ramp is closed. Boaters are asked to use idle speed and are discouraged from recreational activities such as skiing. Red Cross will hand out comfort kits from 9 a.m., to 6 p.m.
