JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A local man who sexually abused young boys and violated his probation twice, won't get the chance to be around children anytime soon.
A jury sentenced 45-year-old Randall Alan Lamp to confinement. In 1991, Lamp pled guilty to sexually abusing young boys between the ages of ten and thirteen.
Lamp sexually abused the boys numerous times. In 1996, Lamp violated his probation after he failed to complete psycho-sexual treatment. Later that year, he violated his probation again when he had unsupervised contact with children.
Experts evaluated Lamp and found he needs to be in a long-term care facility because he suffers from a personality disorder. Experts say his disorder makes him likely to engage in acts of sexual violence.
He will be locked up indefinitely at the Florida Civil Commitment Center in Arcadia, Florida.
