Dave DeCandis joined Action News in November 2010 as a Sports Reporter and Photographer. Dave is a Jacksonville native and a Bartram Trail High School graduate.
Dave returned to his hometown from WDTV in Clarksburg, West Virginia, where he served as Weekend Sports Anchor. During his time in the Mountain State, Dave covered the West Virginia Mountaineers' run to the Final Four and a Gator Bowl appearance where they faced off against Florida State in Bobby Bowden's final game.
Prior to his time in West Virginia, Dave worked at the ABC affiliate in Topeka, Kansas, where he witnessed the Kansas Jayhawks win a national championship and an Orange Bowl in the same school year. He also worked for Golfweek Magazine traveling across the country covering professional, college, and junior golf tournaments.
Dave is extremely happy to be back in his hometown covering the teams that he grew up watching. He spent summers at Wolfson Park, the Baseball grounds, and cheering on the Jaguars. He feels fortunate to getting to cover his favorite teams as an adult.
Dave lives in Jacksonville with his wife Stephanie and their dog Bogey. When he is not at work you can catch him playing at any of Jacksonville's great golf courses.
