It's a homecoming of sorts for Mike. His wife Tera was born and raised in the area and is a proud Florida alum. So when the opportunity came to join the Action News team, he jumped at the chance or risk getting slapped around by his wife.
Prior to working here at Action News, Mike was an anchor in Chicago for more than nine years. He also did a stint as weatherman for Good Morning America and traveled the world as the show's feature correspondent.
Mike is a graduate of Indiana University and got his start in the business working as an intern for the Jim Rome Show in Los Angeles. As an Army brat, Mike's used to picking up and moving every so often, but he hopes this will be the last of the moves.
"I've been coming here for years on vacation to get away from the cold, now I get to actually live here and invest in a community that's brought so much joy to me and my family."
