The strong tropical wave in the W. Caribbean continues to look more impressive but will but running out of time over warm water as it moves W/NW into Belize & the Yucatan Peninsula.  There's some chance that this wave could organize enough today (Mon.) to become a depression or even tropical storm "Barry" prior to a late day/early evening landfall.

Forecast models take the wave -- or what's left of it -- into the far SW Gulf of Mexico (Bay of Campeche) Tue. night-Wed. before for continuing into Mexico well south of Texas. There will be 24 hours or less in which the wave is back over warm water so regeneration might be difficult given the land interaction previously + the short time in its return over water.  In any case....this system stays far to the west of Florida & the First Coast.  (Forecast spaghetti plots at the bottom courtesy S. Fl. Water Management District)
