NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. -- A 17-year-old was killed Saturday evening after the car he was riding in failed to yield to oncoming traffic, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers say 22-year-old Migdelio Torres was attempting to turn left onto Ratliff Road, near Callahan, but did not yield to a pickup truck driven by Heathe Fergoson, 37.
The crash report states that Torres' Camry was hit on the passenger side by the pickup, fatally wounding Justin Hurst, 17, of Atlantic Beach.
Both Torres and Fergoson were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
All of those involved were wearing seatbelts.
FHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
