ORLANDO, Fla. (WFTV) -- Orlando police shot and killed a man early Monday morning, according to authorities.
Police said the man threatened them with a gun.
The Orlando Police Department shut down I-4 westbound from Colonial Drive to South Street due to the incident, but all lanes have since reopened.
The incident began with an armed mugging on Orange Blossom Trail, police said. A witness was able to follow the suspected robber's car, which helped police find it.
When police pulled the suspected robber's car over, they said another man appeared on foot with a gun, which forced officers to shoot and kill that man.
"When it was stopped, there was one person in that vehicle. So, we don't know if that person may have been dropped of at some point.
Those are the questions that detectives are trying to find out," said Sgt. Jim Young of the Orlando Police Department.
The names of those involved were not released.
The mugging victim declined to press charges, police said.
