JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Darryl Ronald Hollis, 25, was convicted Friday for breaking into a 49-year-old woman's house and sexually assaulting her.
In August 2008, Hollis broke into the woman's home, forced her into the living room with a large knife and repeatedly sexually battered her. Then, he forced the victim back to her bedroom where he attacked her again while continually threatening to kill her if she did not cooperate.
Police able to connect Hollis to the crime through DNA technology.
“Thanks to forensic and medical evidence, justice was served in this case,” said Assistant State Attorney Stacie French.
Hollis faces life in prison. He next scheduled appearance is in early April.
