JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- There is a statewide Amber Alert for 6-year-old Onnika Fisher of Jacksonville.

Police say her mother abducted her from the Jewish Family & Community Services Center in Lakewood late Friday afternoon.

Police say the abduction happened at 4:52 p.m., after a supervised visit at the center, located in the 6200 block of Dupont Station Court.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued the Amber Alert around 8:30 p.m.

Police are concerned because Onnika's mother, 38-year-old Charity Chatman, has a history of mental illness.  Chatman lost custody of Onnika about six weeks ago.

Investigators are looking for a 2000 dark green Buick Century with an Ohio license plate: FPA-4958.

Onnika was last seen wearing a pink jacket with a white polka dot inner lining, and blue jeans.  She had her hair up in a pony tail.  She's 3'10" tall and weighs 53 pounds.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said Chatman has been known to frequent hotels, the Red Roof Inn in particular.

"We would like to have Onnika returned safely," said Assistant Chief Chris Butler during a news conference late Friday night.

Police said there's no history of violence between Chatman and her daughter, but as Butler said, police didn't want to "minimize the seriousness of this."

Butler said Chatman sent emails that painted her as being delusional.  "She was fearful of individuals following her and government entities following her," said Butler.

Call 911 if you see the child or her mother.
