Bomb squad finds non-hazardous material in dumpster

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has deemed an area on the Westside near Stuart Avenue and Stuart Lane South safe after a bomb squad matter.

Employees at the Extelligence Learning Center at 6700 Stuart Ave. called JSO about 9 a.m. after they found a suspicious package in the Dumpster behind the building.

The JSO bomb squad checked out the package and found non-hazardous materials inside.

The surrounding businesses were evacuated and a section of Stuart Avenue was temporarily closed during the investigation.  The scene is now clear.
