CBS Sports identifies Chiefs player involved in murder-suicide as linebacker Jovan Belcher

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- According to CBS Sports and multiple other media outlets, the Kansas City Chiefs player involved in a murder-suicide Saturday is 25-year-old linebacker Jovan Belcher.

Kansas City police said Belcher shot his girlfriend at a home in the Kansas City, MO area then drove to a practice facility where he shot himself. Police said Belcher shot himself at Arrowhead Stadium Saturday morning in front of two team officials.

The stadium has been on lockdown since about 8 a.m.

Belcher has been with the team since 2009.
