JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- With just five days left before election day, both political parties are making their last push before the election. And Northeast Florida is a major focus for both the Obama and Romney campaigns.
The latest polls have continued to show that the election will be virtually neck-and-neck down to the home stretch of the campaign.
Governor Mitt Romney currently holds a two-point lead over President Obama according to the latest Rasmussen poll. Romney has 49% compared to Obama's 47% percent of likely voters. Romney is showing strength among Independent voters though.
Both parties are spending a considerable amount of time in Jacksonville this week rallying voters.
At a rally in Ocala Wednesday, Vice President Joe Biden encouraged a crowd of supporters, "Pull together as a nation. That's what we have to do with another term. We win Florida, we win the election."
Governor Romney spoke in Jacksonville Wednesday night. He said, "I've got to be able to reach across the aisle and get good Democrats and Republicans to work together."
First Lady Michelle Obama will rally support for her husband, at the Prime Osborn Convention Center Thursday. Doors open at 10am.
