PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- A man from Ponte Vedra Beach was arrested on a charge of exploitation of the elderly for $100,000 or more this afternoon.

Wayne Joseph Dziadul of Bermuda Bay Circle, was booked on a $25,000 bond.

The investigation began in August when a 91-year-old man from Ponte Vedra Beach reported a significant amount of jewelry, including watches, rare items and old coins and currency, missing from his home.

The victim told deputies that only himself, his wife, a friend who does work around the house and a housekeeper were the only individuals who had access to the home. There was no evidence of any forced entry.

On Thursday, Detective Cheth Plaugher was investigating other burglaries and thefts. He discovered the victim's friend had pawned many items last year. Some of those items matched the ones missing from the victim's home.

Dziadul is charged with using his position of trust, as a caregiver to the victims, to obtain by deception the victims' assets worth over $100,000, between March and August of 2012.
