JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Action News uncovers a major security breach within the city of Jacksonville.

A confidential document containing the social security numbers of every city employee hired after 2005, was found on an internal website.

A city worker found the document and forwarded it on public officials.

The mayor's chief of staff says the employee accessed that information on an internal network, which cannot be accessed by the public.

It appears that employee then handed it to council members to make them aware of the system's vulnerabilities.

Action News spoke with Councilman Bill Gulliford tonight, one of the city employees whose information was accessed. Gulliford says he just hopes the information didn't get past the city.

The city says the information was never available on the external website and the file has since been removed.
