ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. -- Two boaters are safe after their 40-foot sailboat hit a jetty in the St. Johns River off the coast of Atlantic Beach.

The crew of the "Secret Passion" tried to avoid a freighter in the shipping channel and ended up crashing into the jetty. The sailboat became pinned between the ship and the jetty, eventually hitting the rocks.

A Coast Guard rescue crew says both men are OK. The Coast Guard also checked the sailboat for flooding. They found a small amount of water trickling in, but verified the boat was not in danger of sinking.

The Coast Guardsmen instructed the sailors to anchor the "Secret Passion" while they waited for commercial salvage to arrive.
