JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- The coldest temperatures in more than 12 months will invade Jacksonville, Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia this weekend. Saturday will begin nice enough under partly to mostly sunny skies with temperatures quickly jumping into the 50s to near 60 degrees by midday. Clouds will move in during the afternoon along with a few light showers. Rainfall will be less than a tenth of an inch but will followed by a surge of strong and gusty northwest winds that will drop temperatures through late afternoon. Clearing skies Saturday night will allow temperatures to bottom out in the 20s west of Highway 301...near 30 degrees along the I-95 corridor and the mid 30s near the coast but with wind chills in the teens and 20s! Sunday will be sunny but breezy and cold followed by a frost and freeze across the entire area Sunday night.
