Contractor wins lawsuit after deadly accident

JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- A developer must pay a construction company more than $12 million after a worker was killed at the Berkman Plaza II building contruction site in 2007.

Action News obtained the legal papers from case about the Berkman Plaza II building. A judge says the developer, Berkman Plaza II, LLC., owed the general contractor, Choate Construction, for unpaid services. Both company's are based in Atlanta.

The entire project stalled after a worker, Willie Edwards III, was killed after a portion of the building collapsed.
