JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- There are pages of a colorful past that Action News uncovered about a local school bus company's owner.

Alphonso Rock's criminal history consists of grand theft, driving with a suspended license, and now he's accused of stealing at least 10 buses, including two driven right off a school lot in Flagler County and two that were used at the Florida/ Georgia game by his company 95 South Transportation and Tours.

"If they go deeper, they're going to find a lot more than what they think," said former 95 South Transportation and Tours employee, Joann Hemaid. She said Rock has a reputation.

"Very rude, very mean, very deceiving," she said. "He shorted a lot of the bus drivers their pay."

But despite all that, Rock and his company 95 South were listed on a flyer on Duval County Public School's website. It was posted in a section where they list 95 South as an option for parents to take their kids to magnet schools.

Action News called DCPS to find out if they checked into Rock's background. Despite multiple declined requests for an on-camera interview they sent Action News this statement:

"You will see that there is clear guidance that specifies that the list is for information purposes only and that the district does not monitor or inspect the performances and services of private contractors. Parents and students who use this information do so at their own risk."

Shortly after Action News's inquiry, they removed 95 South from the list on their website.
