FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. -- A man is nearly caught in the act, after he left his wallet behind at the scene of a burglary, police say he committed.

19-year-old John Plyler of Green Cove Springs was arrested Thursday afternoon. A Clay County Sheriff's deputy was near the Island Life Grill in Fleming Island when he saw Plyler fleeing from the back door of the business.

The deputy searched Plyler and found a knife, marijuana and a pipe. Outside the building, a Red Bull refrigerator was on the ground with "excrement" inside, not to mention Plyler's wallet.

An Island Life Grill employee showed the deputy surveillance video, which showed Plyler trying to break into the cash register, with no success, and running out with bottles of liquor. The employee also confirmed that the refrigerator was taken from the store.

Plyler is now being held inside the Clay County Jail.
