JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Sailors aboard the USS Farragut returned home Sunday to Naval Station Mayport to hundreds of anxious friends and family.
Among the crowd, several expectant moms, 10 newborns and one little girl who only got to spend one week with her father before he was deployed.
"When I left she was this big. She's gotten quite a bit bigger in the time we've been separated. It's good to be home," says 2nd Class Petty Officer Scott Phillips.
The sailors spent nine months on an anti-piracy mission. They also spent time helping vessels in distress.
The crew stopped at ports in Spain, Germany, and France.
