BOCA RATON, Fla. (WFTV) -- A south Florida bus driver is being credited for safely stopping a runaway school bus with no brakes.

Cellphone video captured the screams of students as the bus zoomed down a busy road in Boca Raton against traffic after its brakes failed.

Student said they couldn't have asked for a better driver.

"She was telling us like, 'Calm down. We're going to be fine. Don't worry.' The fact she did what she did, it's better than I could hope for," said a student.

After zooming a mile down the road, the driver was able to bring the bus to a stop by rubbing its tires against a curb.

There were no injuries reported.

The brake malfunction is under investigation.

Poor driver. Trying hard to save all their lives and they are screaming like that! I am surprised her brain could function in a heroic way with all those maniac kids screaming and hanging out the windows. What could those outside the bus do? hey needed to sit down and shut up so she could think without calming their butts.
