JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Investigators in Florida are looking for answers in the death of a man from California found dead in Florida.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement says James Norris, also known as Richard Gunning, came to Florida in October of 1974 to buy marijuana.

Police found his remains a year and a half later in the woods near Perry, about an hour southeast of Tallahassee. Authorities identified the remains just last year.

Investigators believe there are still people in the area who know what happened and can help bring closure to the man's family.
