LAKE BUTLER, Fla. -- Nearly all of Union County answered the call of the church bells ringing loudly for Marvin Pritchett. The church was packed beyond its limits, a testament to how many loved him.
His family spoke for the first time since the tragedy, encouraging the grief stricken community that Pritchett loved so much.
Bo Bayer, the county judge, said they may be laying Pritchett to rest but Pritchett's passion for Lake Butler is still alive.
"He's going to be looking over all of us and his influence in this community is not going to die, " Bayer said.
Just hours after his funeral wrapped up at First Christian Church, friends and family made their way to the high school football field to celebrate his life the way they say he would have wanted them to.
