BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. -- Firefighters rescued a dog that was hiding under a bed during a house fire near Titusville late Wednesday night.
Massive flames shot through the roof when firefighters arrived at the home on Cowan Drive, just before midnight Wednesday.
Firefighters said strong winds helped spread the fire.
Two adults and one dog got out of the home, but another dog was trapped in a smoke-filled bedroom.
That is when firefighters went inside the burning home.
"Engine 22 made an interior attack, put the fire out and we are standing here with what we have left," said a Brevard County Fire Rescue official.
The firefighter found the other dog under a bed.
The dog seemed lifeless until paramedics used oxygen to revive it.
The dog was happily reunited with his owner.
The teary-eyed homeowner told the rescuer, "Thank you so much. I thought she was dead. God bless you."
