JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Florida Lottery is changing its logo.

The iconic flamingo is getting a makeover.

The Florida Lottery says the new brand better reflects the excitement of playing and wining.

The new look is also part of the Lottery's 25th anniversary celebration.

"The Florida Lottery is a true success story for the state of Florida," said Governor Rick Scott. "For 25 years, this agency has consistently provided benefits to our state's economy and education system."

The Florida Lottery premiered on January 12, 1988 with the first instant Scratc-Off game, Millionaire.

Since then, there have been more than 1,200 millionaires in Florida. That amounts to about two per week. In 2012, more than $37.7 billion has been paid out in prizes.

The Florida Lottery has also generated more than $24 billion for education over the past 25 years.
