ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- Florida Lieutenant Governor Jennifer Carroll is taking accusations made by a former aide head on.

"I think it's outlandish and unfortunate that an individual who wants to save herself will than spread lies," said Carroll.

Earlier this week Action News obtained a court motion filed by Carletha Cole. In them, she calls the relationship between the Governor's and Lieutenant Governor's office "dysfunctional."

She also claims to have caught Carroll in a compromising position with another top female aide. "As we have stated it's lies. And the individual is facing felony charges with up to five years in prison. So she is just pulling straws," said Carroll.

The Lieutenant Governor was in Clay County Saturday to open their new Mitt Romney Victory office. Carroll is a married Navy veteran with three children who even served at NAS Jacksonville.

"I am the one who is married for 29 years and the accuser is the one that's single for a long time. Usually black women who look like me don't engage in relationships like that," said Carroll.

Cole was arrested last October for illegally taping a phone conversations with a reporters. And she is now facing third-degree felony charges.

"It's not just one person you are attacking it's the entire family. My husband doesn't want to hear that," said Carroll.

Carroll did email her supporters this week saying she plans to fight these allegations. And she says the truth will all come out in court.

The Florida Federation of Republican Women says it's standing behind the Lieutenant Governor.
