JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- At WinterFEST in Adventure Landing in Jacksonville Beach, they've got it all -- ice skating, an ice slide and yes, even snow. But they've also got one more thing -- an award.
"We won a brass ring, which is an international award for theme parks," Adventure Landing Vice President of Marketing Michelle Branham said. "It was great. We won it for WinterFEST this year, so we're very excited."
WinterFEST beat out much bigger theme parks for the honor.
"I think WinterFEST is a really neat concept for the beach to have a winter festival here, and we also invited the community to come and participate in a big way."
This year's event is bigger and better than ever before.
"What's neat about WinterFEST is it's going to keep getting bigger, and it's going to keep building on itself, so we hope it will become a tradition for years and years to come."
Expect all the usual entertainment, plus some fun new surprises.
"We've got carolers this year, we've got ice sculptures this year. We've got some shows."
They also have Santa; he's ready to hear your requests and determine if you've been naughty or nice.
