JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville Sheriff's Department officer has been taken to the hospital after a crash on the Northside.
Investigators tell Action News the officer was responding to a suicide call when he and another car collided at the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and Kings Road.
Witnesses say the officer had his lights on at the time and was cautious when proceeding through the intersection. The passengers in the other car, which included a woman, a man, and some children, did not require hospitalization. The officer's injuries were described as minor.
Early indications are that a hardware store on the corner may have caused a blind spot, but the investigation is on-going.
