TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) said 55-year-old Jerry Leon traveled to Tallahassee to have sex with a girl he thought was a teen.
"What he was wanting to do was meet what he thought was a 13-year-old girl today and then wanted to go back to her house and have an illicit sexual relationship with her," Mike Phillips said, FDLE Special Agent Supervisor.
Directions to meet the teen were scrawled on an envelope sitting in the front seat. Leon also had a scanner and a computer in the back of his car.
For two months, Leon had been chatting with an FDLE agent who had been posing as a young girl. Their travel plans were finalized in an Internet conversation Tuesday night.
FDLE agents said Leon is married with children and runs his own computer repair business. He now faces multiple felonies, including obscene communication and traveling to have sex with a minor.
