It's hard to believe, but Jax Film Festival is already a decade old.
"It's the 10th year of the Jacksonville Film Fest. It's one of the most fun, best events in town," said Liz Morgan of the Jacksonville Film Festival.
The festival starts Thursday and runs through Sunday.
"We have documentaries, features, short films, workshops, parties. Every day is just chocked
full."
Tonight opens at the Florida Theatre with the movie "This space available."
"It's a fascinating look at billboard polution," Liz said.
After all the cinematic fun, there's a party every single night. Saturday is the big gala called the
Global whimsey Party on top of the main library.
"It's going to reflect our relationship with Indo-US Chambers. So, there's going to be some
great music and dancing and henna tattoos."
And just because the Jacksonville Film Festival is celebrating all things indie, doesn't mean Hollywood won't be making an appearance.
"This year we have Carri Preston, who people will know from "True Blood" and "The Good
Wife." She's directed a film called "That's What She Said," which is like a female buddy comedy
in the vain of "Bridesmaids." She's going to be here, we're honoring her at a Women in
Filmmaking luncheon."
