JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars have announced a new logo for the 2013 season.

It's the big news from a news conference today at EverBank Field.

The event began with a video showcasing some of the past highlights in team history, which ended with a bold message, "Stand United," the new brand.

Team owner Shad Khan wanted to forge a new identity.

Khan says he's looking for the right look that is faithful to the past, but also brings new energy to the Jaguars in the future.

The Jaguars also announced changes to ticket prices.  On average, they'll be 2-percent higher than 2012.  80-percent of the stadium will stay the same.  17-percent of highly popular areas will see price increases, and 3-percent of ticket prices will decrease.

The Jaguars will also reach out to fans through six town hall forums. They'll start February 25.

The ticket increase is the first since 2008 for the Jaguars.

The team says growing revenue locally is key.

The Jags finished 20th in NFL in selling tickets last year, but dead last in revenue.

The team says it can't sustain success with that kind of performance.

The Jaguars are slightly under the NFL average ticket price of $78.

Team President Mark Lamping sent out this special message to season ticket holders:

Within the hour, the Jacksonville Jaguars will hold a media briefing at EverBank Field to unveil a series of dynamic branding changes for the team and provide updates on 2013 season ticket pricing, our International Series game in London, potential upgrades to EverBank Field, upcoming fan forums and much more. I hope you can join us for these announcements at 4 p.m. by visiting jaguars.com, where we will provide a live video stream of the event that will be attended by owner Shad Khan, general manager Dave Caldwell and head coach Gus Bradley.
As a season ticket owner, you will receive your renewal invoices next week with detailed information on everything planned for the 2013 season. Your account will reflect one fewer home game due to our game in London on October 27 vs. the NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers at Wembley Stadium. While the game has already been declared a sellout by the NFL, be assured the Jaguars still have many ticket options to offer our fans wishing to attend our first home game in London.
Also, for the first time, you will soon be assigned a Jaguars account representative who will personally help you with your season ticket account. We hope you will find this added level of service of benefit and always encourage you to call us at 904-633-2000 if you have questions in the meantime.
The 2013 season begins today. I personally thank you for your continued support and hope you’ll join us today at 4 p.m. at jaguars.com to be part of the action. Go Jaguars!
