JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- With winds increasing to 40 mph, Tropical Depression #11 was upgraded to Tropical Storm Jerry Monday morning.

The Tropical Storm is still an unorganized system...with thunderstorms displaced from the center.

The bottom line on Tropical Storm Jerry is that it will stay out to sea.

Meanwhile, the First Alert Weather Team is giving you the "First Alert" on a system slowly brewing south of Jamaica right now.  Although development is not expected in the short term, conditions become more favorable later in the week.

Early indications bring this Caribbean system into the Gulf of Mexico over the next 3-7 days.  We will monitor it.
