GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- A trial date has been set for a man prosecutors say killed his roommate in September 2012.

According to clerk records, Alachua County Judge Ysleta McDonald set Aug. 4 for the start of jury selection in the case against 20-year-old Pedro Bravo.

The date will mark nearly two years since University of Florida student Christian Aguilar went missing.

Aguilar’s body was eventually found dead inin a rural hunting community west of Gainesville.

Police charged Bravo in the early days of the search with kidnapping and murder.

Bravo is awaiting his next pre-trial court date in the Alachua County Jail.
