TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The Florida Lottery could soon be allowed to sell tickets online.

State Senator Gwen Margolis from Miami has introduced a bill to make it happen.

People would be allowed to buy lottery tickets with debit, ATM, or credit cards.

Online lottery sales would be restricted to those 18 years and older.

People could only buy 20 tickets at a time.

The bill must be passed by  state lawmakers.

Online lottery ticket sales may not be a popular idea with many Americans.

According to a recent survey by the Retail Industry Leaders Association, 78% of Americans are opposed to a Internet lottery.
