NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla.-- Claudia Wright loves going to the library. In fact, so does her entire family.

"It's busy all the time. All my friends use it. All of my grandchildren use it," she said.

In addition to the beaches branch, five other libraries across Jacksonville are on the chopping block. That's because the library may have to cut $2.4 million.

So far, more than 9,000 people have signed a petition hoping to change that.

'I just can't imagine this library being shut down," Joyce Mauldin said.

And neither can Dillon Fehrmann. Not only are libraries home to a bunch of books -- but they host children's programs and provide computers to folks like him.

"Go online, fill out applications and find jobs," he said.

One of the other proposed cuts: closing libraries on Sunday. Wright says something should be done to preserve the very thing she loves.

"Keeping our fingers crossed and hoping the government will do the right thing."
