JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- To follow along with the theme of military appreciation week, the city will be holding a veterans job fair today in Jacksonville.

Mayor Brown and the Secretary of the Navy will be at the Prime Osborn Convention Center to launch the Veterans Job Fair. The job fair is designed to offer job opportunities for transitioning military personnel, Veterans, and their families. There will be about 60 Veteran-friendly employers and many career assistance agencies on site.

This job fair is one of the many events the city has planned this week for the 'Week of Valor' to commemorate Veterans Day. Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown, "When you serve your country and you exit out you should be able to get a job and take care of your family. And that's my goal to make sure we put veterans back to work."

Doors open this morning at 8:30. The job fair runs from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
