JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Two apartment complex maintenance workers were arrested Thursday for stealing diamond rings from a dead man.

David Black, 27, and Ricky Kaiser, 54, employees of Lumor Inc. Rentals, were arrested Thursday after an investigation into stolen items from a man's home who died of natural causes.

After the body was removed from an apartment on Labelle Street, the property manager noticed some valuables were missing including two diamond rings.

Police questioned Black about the missing rings and he admitted to taking them for "safekeeping."  He also admitted that he and his coworker, Kaiser, took several other valuable items.

The stolen property was recovered from the suspects and returned to the victim's family.  Both were booked into the Duval County Jail and charged with grand theft and burglary.
