JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Two men face charges stemming from a shooting in the Brentwood area of Jacksonville.
Kwame Gabe, 22, died at UF & Shands Hospital Wednesday night. Police say his friends Curtis Hordge, 19, and Jarvaris Wright, 20, brought him to the hospital after he was shot in their car.
After questioning, police determined Hordge was holding the gun when it discharged, hitting Gabe in the back. Police did not recover the weapon.
Hordge is now charged with manslaughter and tampering with evidence. He also faces a drug charge after five small bags of marijuana was discovered in the vehicle.
Wright is listed as the driver in the police report. He is charged with driving on a suspended license. He also faces a tampering with evidence charge.
