JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A Jacksonville man was convicted tonight in the 2010 death of his ex-girlfriend.

A jury convicted Kevin Christopher Jones, 27, in the death of Latoya Jones. Kevin Jones was found guilty on a charge of second-degree murder.

Jones killed 26-year-old Latoya Jones in December 2010. The two were at her home when he stabbed her. Then Jones forced her to drive him around town. While riding in the car, he reached over to the driver's side and strangled her. Jones then jumped out of the moving car and watched her drive into a telephone pole. Her cause of death was strangulation.

Jones faces up to life in prison. He will be sentenced the week of March 18, 2013.
