GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. -- A man was sentenced to 33 years in prison for the November death at the Rodeway Inn in Orange Park.
John Buskager, 23, was sentenced Tuesday for the second-degree murder of Andrew Stiekman. He was also sentenced to 30 years in prison for robbery.
In November 2012, police found Stiekman, 49, in a motel room at the Rodeway Inn in Orange Park. His wallet, cell phone and van were missing.
Evidence showed Stiekman was strangled to death after Buskager and Joseph Thompson robbed him. The three men had once been roommates.
Thompson pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison on charges of First Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Robbery and Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling.
