JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The pastor of one of the country's largest mega-churches is here in Jacksonville this Friday.
Pastor Joel Osteen is bringing his "Night of Hope" event to the Veterans Memorial Arena to downtown.
Pastor Osteen tells Action News it's not a church service but rather a celebration. His goal is to inspire and share a message of hope.
"It's all about letting people know God has good things in store and, even though life tries to put everyone down, when you put your faith in the Lord you can move further," says Osteen.
Osteen sits down with our Dawn Lopez for a one on one, tonight on Action News at 5:30 p.m.
He talks about reach of social media. When Osteen took over his father's Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, there were 6,000.
Today, the following is more than 40,000, and social media helps the church reach millions all over the globe. Dawn also asks about Osteen's toughest critics and he gives a candid response, tonight on Action News at 5:30 p.m.
