JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A memorial is being held in Dallas today for Cowboys' practice squad linebacker Jerry Brown.
He once played for the Jacksonville Sharks.
Brown died in a crash Saturday night. Teammate Josh Brent faces an intoxication manslaughter charge in Brown's death.
Police say Brent was speeding when his car hit a curb and flipped over. Brown died at the hospital.
Brown, 25, played on the Sharks' Arena Bowl-winning team in 2011. He signed with the Cowboys practice squad in October. Brown was a native of St. Louis, Missouri, and played college football at the University of Illinois.
