Missing woman from Columbia County found safe in Alabama
COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -- A missing woman from Lake City has been found safe in Alabama.
The Columbia County Sheriff's Office says Noretia G. Dempsey, 87, was found along I-10 near exit 38. She was on the side of the road. Her car had run out of gas.
A truck driver saw a Silver Alert while passing through Florida on a billboard and called for help. Officers with the Daphne Police Department picked her up.
Family members are en route to Alabama to bring her home.
