JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Tim Tebow has been released by the New York Jets, according to reports by NFL.COM.

Tebow, the former Heisman Trophy winner from Florida, was drafted by the Denver Broncos before being traded to the Jets last season.

He didn't play much. He started two games and went 6 of 8 for 39 yards. He had 32 rushing attempts for 102 yards.

This comes 3 days after the Jets used their second round pick in the draft to select quarterback Geno Smith from West Virginia.

Tebow, from Jacksonville, won a state title at Nease High School before winning two national championships and the Heisman Trophy with the Florida Gators.

What are your favorite Tebow moments?  Tebowing?  Tebow throwing the game-winning touchdown to carry the Denver Broncos past the Pittsburgh Steelers in the playoffs?
